HUMANA PEOPLE TO PEOPLE BELIZE
BUILDING ADAPTIVE CAPACITY AND RESILIENCE TO CLIMATE CHANGE IN TOLEDO, SOUTHERN BELIZE, PROJECT
GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE
The Humana People to People Belize has received financing from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) in an amount equivalent to USD648,860.00 towards the cost of the “ Building Adaptive Capacity and Resilience to Climate Change in Toledo, Southern Belize” Project and intends to apply a portion of the proceeds of this financing to eligible payments under contracts procured under this project. Payments by CDB will be made only at the request of Humana People to People Belize and upon approval by CDB, and will be subject in all respects to the terms and conditions of the Financing Agreement. The Financing Agreement prohibits withdrawal from the financing account for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, or for any import of goods, if such payment or import, to the knowledge of CDB, is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations. No party other than Humana People to People Belize shall derive any rights from the Financing Agreement or have any claim to the proceeds of the Financing.
The following consultancy assignments will be procured under the project:
- Consultant for the adaptation of the existing Farmers Club manual for nine Farmers’ Clubs and related training;
- Civil Engineer to design and provide supervision for construction of earthen drains; and
- Civil Engineer to design and provide supervision for the rehabilitation of two emergency shelters.
It is expected that these will be procured during the period June 2017 to January 2018.
The goods, works and non-consultancy services that will be procured under the project are as follows:
- Refurbishment of two emergency shelters;
- Construction of earthen drains;
- Equipment for River keepers;
- River gauges;
- Rain gauges;
- Materials for the construction of greenhouses;
- Materials for construction of metal silos;
- Water storage tanks;
- Construction of wells;
- Installation of drip irrigation systems;
- Solar Water pumps;
- Solar Dryer;
- Farmers Club kits;
- Materials for the construction of livestock sheds, pens, and fencing;
- Livestock – pigs, sheep, and chickens;
- Seedlings, trees, and ground cover;
- Two way hand held solar powered radio system with antenna, base radio, and repeaters;
- Laptop computers;
- Communication and knowledge capture devices;
- Project Vehicles – a pick-up and motor bikes;
- Insurance for the project vehicles;
- Office supplies, meeting supplies and materials for the delivery of training sessions; and
- Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Public Education and Awareness Materials.
It is expected that these will be procured during the period June 2017 to January 2018.
Consultants, Contractors, and Suppliers from member countries of CDB will be eligible to participate in these procurement opportunities. The solar water pumps shall be procured without restrictions on the eligibility of the supplier and the source and origin of the equipment and related services.
